Found Art

It has been rain, rain, raining here so hence the interior picture shot today. This is a flour sack from the Mennonite Heritage Village in Steinbach, Manitoba. I used the flour then cut the bag open and lightly pressed it to frame -it now hangs in our kitchen. It's meaningful because my husband is Mennonite and has strong prairie ties - the fellow who milled the flour also autographed the bag which gives a very close connection from field to table. I have temporarily lost my sewing mojo too - it'll come back it usually does but sometimes it takes a while. Happy Monday!

  1. Isn't it wonderful when something is not only appealing to the eye, but holds special meaning for whom it is displayed?! I think so. :>

  2. I love have art with personal resonance in my home; having a practical connection to the room in which it is displayed is a bonus. The sewing bug will bite again just keep sharing with us what inspires you.
